Salt Lake City’s fitness culture is growing.

It seems like every block in Salt Lake City has at least one gym – a CrossFit box, a personal training studio, group fitness like F45 or OrangeTheory, or a big box gym like EOS or Vasa.

There are more opening all the time, and honestly, I love that there’s a universe of options for people in SLC to boost their health and fitness. It’s important to find a space and a community that you love.

MTN STRNG has been around for 8 years, also working under the names SLC Kettlebell Club and Wasatch Fitness Academy. And in that time, our program has evolved to give you the best of all worlds…

A personalized training plan, driven by your goals, delivered in a private gym by professional coaches.

What makes a great gym?

When it comes to getting strong and improving your fitness in the gym, consistency and a good training program are the most important factors to consider.

A program has to provide real results, that you can see and feel – whether that’s fat loss, and seeing results in the mirror and having more energy for daily life, or getting stronger and seeing your physique and performance change.

You deserve knowledgeable, hands-on coaching in a supportive community, and a clean, well-equipped space focused on functional training.

Salt Lake City has Salt Lake City’s growing fitness culture means more strength training gyms than ever before.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Salt Lake City CrossFit: They have multiple locations to choose from, and they’re one of the longest-standing CrossFit gyms in Salt Lake City. Their CrossFit programming and Olympic lifting training are fantastic.

The Sweaty Pig: This is strongman training done right. They’ve got all the implements to train for strongman – whether you’re a competitor or simply looking to train in new ways. And their website is the most safe-for-work fun you’ll have on the internet today.

Fit to Recover: This gym community serves individuals in recovery, with a variety of programs to support people getting back on their feet, and taking ownership of their lives.

What makes MTN STRNG stand out?

Personalized programming is the standard: maximum results come from a program that’s been written to move you towards your goals.

We’re focused on longevity in addition to performance and physique: build it now so you can enjoy it for many more decades.

We specialize in building the durability of mountain and endurance athletes: we structure our training plans to build performance on the trails and in the mountains, not just to improve results in the gym.

Our team bridges the gap between strength training and physical therapy: getting back to activity after an injury requires more than traditional rehab physical therapy provides; we’ll meet you where you are, and build to to where you want to be.

What Clients Are Saying

  • I’ve been going to MTN STRNG for almost 4 years now. I love the gym, the staff, and the environment. Michael is a great coach and really cares about your health and helping you achieve your goals. All of the coaches are awesome and really helpful. 1,000,000,000 / 10 would recommend going here!! (Macayla)
  • I have been a proud member of the MTN STRNG community for over four years, and I can’t say enough about the exceptional experience Michael and his team provide. Their program caters to all abilities and a wide range of extracurricular sports, making it inclusive and versatile. When I first joined, I had minimal conditioning training, but thanks to Michael’s engaging teaching style and dedicated work ethic, I saw significant progress in no time.

What sets MTN STRNG apart is the genuine care and attention from the trainers. They go above and beyond to ensure each member reaches their potential, fostering a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. If you’re seeking a smaller gym with a powerful sense of community and trainers who truly care about your growth, MTN STRNG is the place to be. Highly recommended! (Hannah)
  • I’ve been working with Michael for 2.5 years. He is thoughtful in how he designs his training blocks, always explaining the ‘why’, vigilant on form, plus flexible to adapt the exercises to your limitations or goals. I credit his program for helping me complete 2 Peruvian treks that reached 15,500 feet in elevation as well as faster recovery from illness and injury. I’ve also had some of my best ski seasons ever. I’m more resilient at 54 years old than I’ve ever been. (Margot)
