BASECAMP + HYBRID

Assessment before assumption.

The performance assessment helps us understand how you move today—before we decide how and where you should train.

This is not a pass-or-fail test. It is a coaching conversation supported by movement, control, and strength observations.
Why it comes first

Good coaching starts by making sure the program is a good fit.

Small-group training works best when the coaching environment matches your current needs. The assessment gives the MTN STRNG team enough information to recommend a responsible starting point—not simply place every athlete into the same plan.

01

Movement

How you access and use the positions the program will ask you to train.

02

Control

How well you organize, stabilize, and coordinate movement under appropriate challenge.

03

Strength

The foundation you currently have for the progressive work ahead.

04

Training context

Your history, goals, current concerns, schedule, and expectations for ski season.

The right recommendation may be a different starting point.

If a notable limitation in movement, control, or strength would make small-group training less effective, a coach may recommend another option—including one-to-one coaching—to build what you need first. That is part of protecting the quality of your training, not keeping you out of the work.

The 2026 build

A clear runway toward winter.

Start with the optional Prologue, then move into fourteen weeks of progressive strength, capacity, and ski-season preparation.

  1. 01 · Optional runway

    Prologue

Four weeks to rebuild consistency, improve movement quality, and establish a stronger base before the Core begins.

  2. 02 · Core program

    PowderStrong

Fourteen weeks of progressive training designed to build strength, capacity, control, and durability for the demands of a real ski season.

The weekly training schedule

Three focused sessions. One progressive plan.

3 sessions each week

FIELD

Complete all three programmed strength and capacity sessions at a moderately equipped gym, on the days and times that work for you.

BASECAMP

Train in person with a coach. Morning sessions run Monday–Saturday; afternoon and evening sessions are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

HYBRID

Combine selected BASECAMP sessions with independent FIELD sessions for live feedback and a schedule that can flex with real life.

Why MTN STRNG

Individual attention. Small-group energy. Mountain purpose.

PowderStrong is more than a set of workouts. It is a coached progression built by people who understand that the gym is a tool for a bigger life outside.

1:6 athlete-to-coach ratio

Small groups keep coaching present, specific, and responsive while preserving the energy of training alongside a crew.

20 years of combined experience

The coaching team brings two decades of combined experience to programming, progression, feedback, and athlete development.

Mobility built into the work

Mobility is blended into every session so range, control, and strength develop together rather than living in separate routines.

Individualized inside the group

Your coach can adjust the plan, loading, and movement choices to meet you where you are while keeping you connected to the progression.

A year-round mountain path

After ski season, keep building with training focused on running, riding, climbing, or all-around strength and capacity for mountain life.

Community without competition

Train with athletes who love the mountains, are not trying to become gym specialists, and use training to support performance, durability, and a lifetime of playing outside.

Questions, answered

What to know before PowderStrong begins.

The essential details about program length, assessments, equipment, scheduling, and your next step.

How long is PowderStrong?

The PowderStrong Core is a 14-week program running from October 11, 2026 through January 17, 2027. The optional four-week Prologue runs from September 14 through October 9, giving athletes an additional runway to rebuild consistency and movement quality.

Is a performance assessment required?

A performance assessment is required for BASECAMP and HYBRID athletes. It helps the coaching team evaluate program fit and recommend the most effective starting point. FIELD athletes will receive a direct registration link instead.

What happens if the assessment identifies a limitation?

If a notable limitation in movement, control, or strength would make small-group training less effective, a coach may recommend another option—including one-to-one coaching—to help you build the foundation you need first.

Can I participate if I am returning to training or managing an injury?

Possibly. Many athletes begin while returning to training, but the right pathway depends on your current needs. BASECAMP and HYBRID prospects will discuss their training history and concerns during the assessment so a coach can recommend the most appropriate option.

What equipment do I need for PowderStrong FIELD?

A moderately equipped gym should provide what you need for the FIELD program. If your available equipment or training space is limited, discuss it with the MTN STRNG coach who follows up after your interest form.

What is the weekly training schedule?

PowderStrong includes three focused sessions each week. FIELD athletes complete them on their own schedule. BASECAMP offers morning sessions Monday through Saturday, plus afternoon and evening sessions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. HYBRID athletes combine selected BASECAMP sessions with independent FIELD training.

What should I do now?

Watch your inbox for the PowderStrong program details and your next-step link. FIELD prospects will receive a registration link, while BASECAMP and HYBRID prospects will receive a link to schedule their performance assessment. Check your Promotions or Spam folder if you do not see the message.
