What to expect

A useful starting point—not a workout.

Your assessment gives us a concise look at how you currently move and perform. It helps us determine whether PowderStrong is the right next step and how the program should meet you where you are.

15–20

minutes of guided tasks

This is focused work, not a training session. You should leave with useful context—not feeling like you just completed a workout.

Start with context

We’ll talk briefly about your ski goals, training history, current activity, injuries, and anything that may affect your training.

Complete performance tasks

A coach will guide you through a focused set of movement, strength, control, and capacity tasks. You do not need to prepare or practice anything beforehand.

Discuss fit and next steps

We’ll use what we learn to discuss whether PowderStrong fits your current needs and which coaching rhythm may make the most sense.

You do not need to prove your fitness. The goal is to establish an honest starting point. If a task does not feel appropriate, tell your coach and we will adjust it.

Before you arrive

Assessment FAQs

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable athletic clothing that lets you move freely, plus clean athletic shoes. Shorts, leggings, joggers, and a T-shirt or training top all work well.

Will I get sweaty?

Probably not much. The assessment includes 15–20 minutes of performance tasks, but it is not designed to be a workout. You should be able to continue with the rest of your day normally.

How early should I arrive?

Arrive about five minutes early so you have time to find the entrance, get settled, and begin on time. Your confirmation email contains your scheduled appointment time.

Should I bring anything?

Bring water if you would like it and be ready to share relevant details about your training history, ski goals, prior injuries, pain, or recent physical therapy. No special equipment is needed.

What if I have pain, an injury, or a recent surgery?

Tell your coach before beginning the performance tasks and share any restrictions from your medical or rehabilitation provider. We can adjust or skip a task when appropriate. The assessment is not medical diagnosis or treatment.

Do I need to prepare or train beforehand?

No. Come as you are. The purpose is to understand your current starting point, so there is nothing to study, practice, or prove before your visit.

What happens after the assessment?

We’ll discuss what the assessment suggests, answer your questions, and explain the most appropriate next step. If PowderStrong is a good fit, we’ll help you identify the FIELD, BASECAMP, HYBRID, or other coaching path that best matches your needs.

How do I reschedule or cancel?
